Data center projects in Johor

ArusGrid tracks 43 active data center projects in Johor, Malaysia, with 4,820 MW of planned IT load. Of these, 3 are operational, 9 are operational and expanding, 10 are under construction, 1 is past financial close, 5 are at the land and permitting stage and 15 are announced only. Projects under construction or commissioning account for 1,451 MW and operational sites for 1,567 MW of planned capacity. Operators have disclosed 333 MW actually running, a figure most of them do not publish.

The largest project is CURRENC AI Data Center at 500 MW, announced only. The operators with the most planned capacity here are AirTrunk (700 MW across 4 projects), YTL (500 MW across 2 projects) and CURRENC Group (Nasdaq fintech) (500 MW across 1 project). Published colocation vacancy in Johor was 0.7% as of June 2026, on 897 MW of operational colocation capacity as counted by Cushman & Wakefield. Vacancy excludes hyperscaler self-build.
