China Mobile Hohhot Data Center is a data center project in Horinger, China, operated by China Mobile (中国移动). It is operational. It is planned for 120 MW of IT load.
Latest change on record: entered the record as operational on 12 November 2024. Record last checked against its sources on 19 October 2026.
This project is built or running, so every gate counts as passed.
Build odds is ArusGrid's reading of the public record, not a forecast, a rating or advice. It counts the gates this project has passed in public sources. Private progress does not show, a passed gate can be undone, and projects that pass every gate still stop. The method has not yet been tested against outcomes. How it works.
Horinger and Hohhot holds 10 active projects with 298 MW of planned IT load between them, and China Mobile Hohhot Data Center ranks first by planned capacity. Of those, 3 are operational, 1 is operational and expanding, 1 is under construction, 2 are at the land and permitting stage and 3 are announced only. No third party publishes a colocation vacancy rate for Horinger and Hohhot, and ArusGrid does not estimate one.
China Mobile has 11 others in China tracked by ArusGrid, including China Mobile Zhongwei Data Center, Park B, China Mobile (Gansu Qingyang) Data Center and China Mobile Zhongwei Data Center, Xuanhe Park. It sits on the China Mobile Hohhot campus. No tenant has been disclosed, which is normal for colocation and says nothing about occupancy.
The stage was recorded as operational on 12 November 2024. The money on record is CN¥22bn as of September 2016, the announced investment. Power comes from unknown through a renewable power purchase agreement (reported, unconfirmed). Cooling uses direct liquid cooling.
The US export control position for advanced AI chips in China, as of 7 October 2026, is recorded as “Licence required, presumption of denial, case-by-case review for H200-class chips since 15 January 2026”. ArusGrid holds 15 public sources for this project, the latest dated 13 October 2026, and last checked the record on 19 October 2026.
Running capacity. The site is operational or expanding. The rules are fixed and published on the Methodology page.
China Mobile Intelligent Computing Center (Hohhot) runs 2,392 AI servers at 6.7 EFLOPS with more than 85% domestic chips (C114, 2024-11-12). Xinhua (2026-06-22) reports about 20,000 AI accelerator cards and calls it the largest single liquid-cooled intelligent computing centre among global carriers.
A party to this project (its operator, that operator's group, a funder, or a confirmed client) is headquartered in China or Macau or has an ultimate parent there. US rules require a licence for advanced AI chips destined to such entities wherever they are located. This describes the rule and says nothing about whether a licence was sought, granted or refused. Criteria are published on the Methodology page.

No tenant disclosed. Most colocation leases are confidential, so this says nothing about occupancy. Not yet checked against second-order sources.
The figure covers the whole campus.
No colocation price applies to this product (retail interconnection, no colocation price applies).
