GDS Shaoguan Computing Cluster (万国数据韶关数据中心) is a data center project in Baitu Town start-up zone, Qujiang District, Shaoguan, China, operated by Shaoguan GDS Yunyao Data Technology (韶关万国云耀数据科技). It is being commissioned. The operator has not published an IT load figure. It is planned for 19,200 racks. ArusGrid does not convert racks into MW.
Latest change on record: moved to commissioning in September 2026. Record last checked against its sources on 19 October 2026.
This project is built or running, so every gate counts as passed.
Build odds is ArusGrid's reading of the public record, not a forecast, a rating or advice. It counts the gates this project has passed in public sources. Private progress does not show, a passed gate can be undone, and projects that pass every gate still stop. The method has not yet been tested against outcomes. How it works.
Shaoguan holds 11 active projects with 200 MW of planned IT load between them, and GDS Shaoguan Computing Cluster (万国数据韶关数据中心) has no published figure so it sits outside that ranking. Of those, 4 are operational, 1 is operational and expanding, 3 are under construction, 1 is being commissioned and 2 are announced only. No third party publishes a colocation vacancy rate for Shaoguan, and ArusGrid does not estimate one.
It is the only GDS Holdings project ArusGrid tracks. It sits on the GDS Shaoguan campus. The named user of the compute is Tencent (reported, unconfirmed).
The dated record runs from announced only on 29 May 2022 to being commissioned in September 2026. The money on record is CN¥1.85bn as of March 2026, a government approval ceiling.
The US export control position for advanced AI chips in China, as of 7 October 2026, is recorded as “Licence required, presumption of denial, case-by-case review for H200-class chips since 15 January 2026”. ArusGrid holds 7 public sources for this project, the latest dated 9 September 2026, and last checked the record on 19 October 2026.
Construction or financing is evidenced, or several independent signals agree. The rules are fixed and published on the Methodology page.
Reaching this stage requires a dated construction source, which corroborates the project on its own.
Reported Tencent computing project; GDS was named as planning 10,000-accelerator clusters in Shaoguan in 2026.
A party to this project (its operator, that operator's group, a funder, or a confirmed client) is headquartered in China or Macau or has an ultimate parent there. US rules require a licence for advanced AI chips destined to such entities wherever they are located. This describes the rule and says nothing about whether a licence was sought, granted or refused. Criteria are published on the Methodology page.

An approval figure is an incentive ceiling. It often covers a first phase and can exclude land or IT equipment.
The figure covers the whole campus.
No published price band exists for China, and ArusGrid does not estimate from the regional benchmark alone. What was searched is listed on the Colo prices page.
